Mazda has introduced its new high-performance 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 which is debuted at the New York Auto Show. This new 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 is identical to the MPS model except the new revision to the headlamps.
The new Mazdaspeed 3 comes in the 5-door body and uses the same MZR 2.3-liter DISI turbocharged four-cylinder power plant as its predecessor which puts out 263 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 280 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm. With the decent power, it is not quite up there compare with the ultra-quick ability of Volkswagen and BMW turbo engines. A redesigned six-speed manual transmission with wider gear ratios has been built to cope the revised motor demands and the new Mazdaspeed 3 has the top speed of 155 mph.
With the styling, there’s only a minor changes up front and out back, a roof spoiler and few bits of lowering grille, which gives Mazda a new smiley face look. It also comes with 18 inch alloys based on the RX-8 design.
The interior has Mazdaspeed logos with a predominantly black-based theme and it also has an LED turbo boost gauge between the instrument panel gauges. Mazdaspeed 3 also offers a tech package which will cost $1,895 and it comes with a 242-watt Bose Centerpoint 10-Speaker Surround Sound system, in-dash 6-disc cd changer with MP3 support, full color MID (Multi-Information Display) with Navigation System, 6 months of Sirius Satellite Radio, Advanced Keyless Entry System, Push Button Start and a Perimeter Alarm.
